WSM-Discuss -- Discussion list about emerging world social movement

About WSM-Discuss

This list, World Social Movement Discuss (or WSMDiscuss), is an open and unmoderated forum for the critical exchange of information and views on the experience, practise, and theory of social and political movement at any level (personal, local, national, regional, and global), including the World Social Forum.

Inspired by the World Social Forum, it has grown out of and been built on a list called WSFDiscuss that was set up in 2005 for information and discussion around the World Social Forum and related social movement, and in particular to provide a horizontal space both for those within WSF bodies and also those not in WSF bodies to discuss the WSF. By 2014, and especially given world events from 2007 on and then 2011 on, WSFDiscuss had matured into a space for discussion about social and political movement more generally. The list host CACIM decided to rename the list to reflect its content and scope and opened the issue for debate on the list, and made the change in May 2017.

The special features of WSMDiscuss are that it already has a great list membership, with people from many parts of the world including activists, students and researchers, teachers, and others, and located both near 'the centre' and towards 'the margins' of societies as they today are. Being unmoderated, the list is not responsible for opinions expressed either by those who post on this list or that is contained in anything that is posted.  Those who post are responsible for what they say or post.

Please read the Posting Guidelines for this list.
