Excellent article, Ashish! We are going to translate it into Persian and disseminate ot to further the argument in Iran that rivers and other living things have rights—something I've always believed in.

(pl. note that this was written and submitted before the Supreme Court
in India stayed the High Court's orders recognising the rights of Ganga
