Titles and phrases carrying a touch of irony do not readily travel well across cultures.

Hi Faizi, thanks for your comment. We did consider this, but our feeling was that there is no either/or ... even as the world focuses and must focus on the immediate humanitarian crisis (which is how we start the article ... and see also my piece of today, sent separately), there is no reason to not also talk about steps and directions that we need to take to deal with the underlying malaise, whenever this is possible. If, when you say "I stand in solidarity with the ...", the assumption is that the 5 of us as authors of this piece don't, then that is an invalid assumption. Each of us doing what we can to help with the relief, rescue, and rehabilitation work ... while also making our voice heard when the state acts callously in the name of emergency measures (as in India). this is also the spirit in whcih the Vikalp Sangam core group statement was issued in India, endorsed by nearly 60 organisations/networks (sent out on these lists on 28th March).
Several people have written in that they appreciate such an approach that , while not ignoring the immediate crisis and measures, also brings out what needs to be done in the long-term.
the original title of this piece was 'Is Corona going to save the world? No, but we can' ... perhaps the same sense you are trying to convey below. As for capitalism and industrial civilisation dying in 70 years, I'm afraid we are not so precisely prescient as you seem to be ... but we do think that we should do all we can to hasten this demise, while reducing the pains associated, rather than only wait for the climate crisis to do it ... and while this happens, also talk about, promote, and/or practice whatever alternatives to it that we can.
I am copying in the other authors in case anyone wants to add anything.
