Dear Friends
Greetings! Casteism is seen andpracticed as normal even in educational institutions in India. It has led toinstitutional murders in the form of Dalit and Adivasi (Indigenous) studentscommitting suicides in recent years have been reported on a regular basis. ADalit lady Doctor at the most prestigious All India Institutes of MedicalScience (AIIMS), New Delhi, reportedly tried to commit suicide after hercomplaint about caste based harassment to authorities were not looked into inthe month of March 2020. I had circulated news about this case when it wasreported in the media.
Now the Indian Express, dailynewspaper published from New Delhi, has carried a news item today (July 19,2020), citing an internal committee probe report, reconfirming the allegationsagainst a senior faculty for harassing a Dalit Woman Senior Resident Doctor oncaste lines. It remains to be seen if the AIIMS administration takes anymeaningful action in this case. It looks doubtful as it is the same Institutewhich has failed to implement Prof. Sukhadeo Committee Report &Recommendations from 2006/2007 onwards itself.
Do pass it on to others in yourcircle/network.

India is neglecting caste-based discrimination in highereducational institutions at its own peril.

My final words of advice to you are educate, agitate and organize; have faith in yourself. With justice on our side I do not see how we can lose our battle. The battle to me is a matter of joy. The battle is in the fullest sense spiritual. There is nothing material or social in it. For ours is a battle not for wealth or for power. It is battle for freedom. It is the battle of reclamation of human personality.
