Dear Friends
Greetings! How should one deal withCOVID-19 pandemic? Certainly not with social distancing, which in South Asiancontext, has inbuilt casteist connotations of discrimination and exclusion.More than anything else a sense of solidarity, empathy, generosity, warmth, compassion, share and care shall help us in not only helping the humanity butalso to inculcate values in younger generation to respect every one and alwayshelp the needy.
Ubuntu is what we need now and alsoin future! A society without ubuntu is a dead society.
Do pass it on to others in yourcircle/network.
Do you haveubuntu?

If there is a humanattribute that can transform our response to Corona-related societal woes, itis ubuntu (oo-boon-too). In his book, “God has a Dream: A Vision of Hope forOur Time”, Archbishop Desmond Tutu explains that in the traditional Africanworldview, a person with ubuntu was someone with attributes of generosity, hospitality, warmth, compassion and the willingness to share and care.

My final words of advice to you are educate, agitate and organize; have faith in yourself. With justice on our side I do not see how we can lose our battle. The battle to me is a matter of joy. The battle is in the fullest sense spiritual. There is nothing material or social in it. For ours is a battle not for wealth or for power. It is battle for freedom. It is the battle of reclamation of human personality.
