[As will become obvious when you read it, this is of course an unfolding story, but given the intense exchange that we’ve had on the WSMDiscuss list on the present and unfolding moment in Ecuador – including and focussing on the role of Indigenous Peoples and their movements, and given that the presidential run-off election is going to be taking place very soon now (April 11) -, I thought that it might be useful to post this opening salvo here. El candidato por la UNES agradeció el apoyo de las comunidades indígenas de cara a los comicios presidenciales del 11 de abril.
El presidente de la Confederación de Nacionalidades Indígenas del Ecuador (Conaie), Jaime Vargas, ratificó este sábado su apoyo al candidato presidencial por la Unión por la Esperanza (UNES) Andrés Arauz, en vista de las próximas elecciones del 11 de abril.
