[As India enters its 75th year of formal independence as a republic in 1947 :

This Campaign shall commence at more than 100 places across the country on the historically significant day of 9th of August and inaugural actions shall continue through out the week until 15th Aug. 

During the course of this year-long campaign, NAPM, along with like-minded organizations shall conduct numerous activities across the length of breadth of India, trying to remember the many streams of the freedom struggle and its values, re-assert the role and contributions of people’s movements in the past 75 years and intensify struggles to address contemporary socio-economic and political challenges and visions for a truly democratic India.

Launch of One-Year Nation-wide Campaign

“Jan Azadi 75: Azadi ki Raah par”

(Marking 75 years of independence)

Dear media friends,

National Alliance of People’s Movements invites you to join us for a Press Conference announcing the launch of a year-long, nation-wide campaign called जन आज़ादी 75: आज़ादी की राह पर / Jan Azadi 75: Pathways to Freedom, from 9th Aug, 2021 to 15th Aug, 2022.

This Campaign shall commence at more than 100 places across the country on the historically significant day of 9th of August and inaugural actions shall continue through out the week until 15th Aug. 

During the course of this year-long campaign, NAPM, along with like-minded organizations shall conduct numerous activities across the length of breadth of India, trying to remember the many streams of the freedom struggle and its values, re-assert the role and contributions of people’s movements in the past 75 years and intensify struggles to address contemporary socio-economic and political challenges and visions for a truly democratic India.

The National Press Conference shall be held online from 3-4 pm on 6th Aug and shall be addressed by the following national activists and convenors of NAPM: 

·       Medha Patkar, Narmada Bachao Andolan
·       Prafulla Samantara, Lok Shakti Abhiyan
·       Faisal Khan, Khudai Khidmadgar
·       Dr. Sunilam, Kisan Sangharsh Samiti

Members of NAPM National Co-ordination Committee Sanjay MG and Meera Sanghamitra shall conduct the Press Conference and share the context and details of the one-year campaign.

Convenors from various state units of NAPM shall be present, during the Press Conference, to respond to any state-specific queries.

प्रिय मीडिया मित्रो,

जन आंदोलनों का राष्ट्रीय समन्वय (NAPM) आपको एक प्रेसवार्ता के लिए आमंत्रित करता है, जिसमें इस वर्ष 9 अगस्त से अगले वर्ष 15 अगस्त, 2022 तक चलाये जाने वाले एक राष्ट्र-व्यापी अभियान “जन आजादी 75: आजादी की राह पर” के प्रारंभ् की घोषणा की जाएगी।

यह अभियान 9 अगस्त के ऐतिहासिक दिन पर, देश भर में 100 से अधिक स्थानों पर शुरू होगा और 15 अगस्त, 2021 तक पूरे सप्ताह में उद्घाटन जारी रहेगा।

इस एक वर्षीय अभियान के दौरान, NAPM अपने समविचारी संगठनों के साथ मिलकर देश भर में, स्थानीय से लेकर राष्ट्रीय स्तर तक, विभिन्न कार्यक्रम आयोजित करेगा। इस अभियान के द्वारा आजादी आंदोलन की विविध धाराओं व मूल्यों को याद किया जाएगा और पिछले 75 वर्षों में, जन आंदोलनों की भूमिका व योगदान को रेखांकित करते हुए, समकालीन सामाजिक-आर्थिक व राजनीतिक चुनौतियों के साथ, सही मायने में लोकतांत्रिक भारत की अवधारणा को साकार करने के लिए संघर्ष तेज किया जाएगा।

राष्ट्रीय प्रेसवार्ता 6 अगस्त को दोपहर 3 से 4 बजे तक ऑनलाइन होगी और इसे NAPM के निम्निलिखित समन्वयक संबोधित करेंगे:

1.     मेधा पाटकर, नर्मदा बचाओ आंदोलन

 2.     प्रफुल्ल समनतारा, लोक शक्ति अभियान

 3.     फैज़ल खान, खुदाई खिदमतगार

 4.     डॉ. सुनीलम, किसान संघर्ष समिति

NAPM राष्ट्रीय समन्वय समिति के सदस्य संजय एम.जी और मीरा संघमित्रा प्रेसवार्ता का संचालन करेंगे और एक वर्षीय अभियान का संदर्भ और विवरण देंगे।

NAPM के विभिन्न राज्यों की इकाइयों के समन्वयक प्रेस वार्ता में मौजूद रहेंगे, और राज्य-संबंधित सवालों को संबोधित करेंगे।
