Update on the attempted deportation by the Swedish government of Honduran citizen Erlin Mejía

As we have already announced in previous articles[1](#sdfootnote1sym), on December 22, 2020, Honduran citizen Erlin Mejía submitted the relevant documents to initiate his appeal process at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg against the deportation order by the Swedish government (Case "Erlin Mejía-Andino v. Sweden 49738/20)[2](#sdfootnote2sym).

Once the entry of documents was made, her deportation process was stopped pending the Court's decision. His case is now in the first chamber, then it will go to the three-judge chamber and then seven judges will decide the final sentence. It is a long process, which gives Erlin time, but at the same time generates uncertainty and anxiety, which does not help his delicate health and well-being.

Actualización sobre el intento de deportación por el gobierno sueco del ciudadano hondureño Erlin Mejía

Como ya anunciamos en anteriores artículos[1](#sdfootnote1sym), el pasado 22 de diciembre 2020, el ciudadano hondureño Erlin Mejía entregó los documentos pertinentes para iniciar su trámite de recurso contra la orden de deportación del gobierno sueco en la Corte Europea de Derechos Humanos de Estrasburgo (Caso “Erlin Mejia-Andino v. Sweden 49738/20)[2](#sdfootnote2sym).

Una vez hecha la entrada de documentos el proceso de su deportación fue paralizado a espera de lo que decida el Tribunal. Ahora su caso se encuentra en la sala primera, después pasará a la sala de tres jueces y después siete jueces deciden la sentencia final. Es un proceso largo, que da tiempo a Erlin, pero que al mismo tiempo le genera incertidumbre y ansiedad, lo que no ayuda a su delicada salud y a su bienestar.
