The "war" intensifies.
Modi launches fresh missile attack.
Bengal Chief Minister, quite undaunted, promptly fires back.

This is a "war" just not on the people of Bengal, obviously meant to
torpedo their fight to tackle the aftereffects of the devastating cyclone
Yaas and the raging pandemic, but also on the federal structure of India
and, thereby, "India" itself - the "India" that had been brought into being
as the culmination of decades long freedom struggle of epic proportions.

Each and every Indian who values democracy and, thereby, the idea of
"India" must join this war against the evil Emperor and keep broadening the
frontiers with gain in strength.
Not to forget, right now, yet another invasion is underway in (miniscule
and paradisiacal) Lakshadweep.
About time to face up.

<<Earlier reports said that Alapan Bandyopadhyay's tenure as chief
secretary, slated to end on Monday, has been extended by three months.
However, the Centre put the speculations to rest and appointed Hari Krishna
Dwivedi as the new Bengal chief secretary.

Reacting to the development, a miffed Mamata Banerjee termed the decision
as autocratic and said that "the central government was behaving like Adolf
Hitler and Stalin".

The chief minister has, however, refused to let go of the man who has come
to be known as the face of Bengal's fight against Covid-19.

CM Mamata Banerjee has announced that Alapan Bandyopadhyay will now serve
as chief advisor to the CM from Tuesday.

"He [Alapan Bandyopadhyay] will join as the chief advisor to the CM from
tomorrow. We want his services for the pandemic. Everybody knows how he
worked and that's why we are safe today. He must continue his service to
Bengal and the country," Mamata Banerjee said.>>
