Advanced capitalism, aka financialization, disease that it is, has the capability to capture anything and everything that has value. Now capitalism is capturing 'environmental services' whereby entire ecosystems can be bought and sold through markets. Financialization eliminates the feedback and consequences that follow, whether it is people made homeless through private equity firm's profiteering in the residential sector, or species going extinct due to ecosystem asset selloffs.
